What does a Postpartum Doula do?
The modern world is not designed to help new parents thrive. We are so far removed from the village-like community we were meant to raise our families inside of. Doulas exist as an answer to the gaps in experience and support new families miss as they find their way forward, often in isolation.
Sometimes one minor adjustment, one little trick, can save us from months of struggle, and sometimes just knowing that what you’re going through is normal and that you’re not alone is extremely helpful. I include weekly virtual postpartum support circles in addition to providing in person lactation and bottle feeding support, gentle sleep training, meal preparation and hands-on help in addition to a trauma informed listening ear and decades worth of experience helping couples and single parents navigate the rocky road of new parenthood in the greater LA area.
